WAYLAND
Pekka Paalanen of Collabora has landed the new presentation extension for Wayland that currently is living within the Weston compositor code-base until it's fully vetted.

The presentation extension was designed by Collabora developers and should enhance video playback on Wayland. The specification explaining the new extension in full can be found via this mailing list post.

Today the protocol was added to Weston with a working implementation for Weston with support for its various back-ends.

This new presentation extension will be found in the Wayland/Weston 1.7 release due out in early 2015.
