DRI3 On (X)Ubuntu 16.04 Still isn't Enough For Intel Graphics To Compete With Others

As a follow-up to this morning's article about Intel Graphics Performance: Clear Linux vs. Xubuntu 16.04 LTS vs. Fedora 23 Xfce, here is some more data to look at. With the latest numbers are some Xubuntu 16.04 results when DRI3 was manually enabled for the Intel graphics.

If you didn't see this morning's article, check that out first and then continue. These latest results have this morning's Clear Linux vs. Fedora 23 Xfce vs. Xubuntu 16.04 numbers for the Intel Haswell ultrabook, but has an extra run on Xubuntu 16.04 of switching from DRI2 to DRI3 when run under the Linux 4.6 Git kernel and Mesa 11.3-devel.

You can find all of this latest data via this OpenBenchmarking.org result file for your analysis, but long story short, in this case and with the Iris Graphics 5100, Fedora 23 Xfce and Clear Linux remain much faster than the specially configured Xubuntu 16.04.
