UBUNTU
Early in October I wrote that Ubuntu TV would be a focus for 13.04 as the TV-focused Ubuntu spin was still being ported to Unity 3D. This week in Copenhagen at the Ubuntu Developer Summit, new plans for Ubuntu TV were drawn.

Among the Ubuntu TV work to look forward to for the 13.04 cycle includes a new TV-development branch based upon the Unity trunk code, a TV launcher and TV dash for Unity, a program guide CateGoryRenderer, TV HUD and TV indicators for Unity, determining other lenses and scopes from Unity to integrate into Ubuntu TV, creating a new DVR (Digital Video Recorder) lens, a lens for guide data, a scope for guide data from MythTV, and extending the MythTV scope as well as MythTV's Services API to cover all interfaces for MythTV.

It's looking like Ubuntu TV will be built quite around the Unity desktop principles. More details on the Ubuntu TV 13.04 plans can be found from this blog post.
