The annual LinuxTag 2012 conference is happening this weekend in Berlin, Germany.

From the 23rd of May through the 26th is the LinuxTag conference that once again is happening (the 6th time) at the Berlin Messe. This trade show and conference that's sponsored by the likes of Microsoft, Oracle, and Nokia usually has some interesting booths and sessions.

As far as what's interesting on the program this year, there's a few things, but it doesn't seem as exciting as in some of the past years. Likely the ones I'll be at with possible Phoronix or Twitter (live tweeting) coverage include:

- IBM embraces Open Source technology in its products

- Microsoft and Open Source: An Update on the Journey

- Success Factors for Open Source Adoption

- LibreOffice 3.5, the best free office suite ever

- VideoLAN VLC 2.0

- English Lima: Liberating ARM's Mali GPU

- Openmoko is dead: Long live OpenPhoenux!

Additional information on LinuxTag Berlin 2012 is available at their web-site.

When not in one of the sessions, I'll likely be out on the show floor. In particular, either by the openSUSE booth and/or the seating area chatting with Linux developers while enjoying some beers. (Promotional notice for openSUSE, I've heard they will have their openSUSE Linux beer at LinuxTag) For LinuxTag I will be in Berlin from Thursday to Sunday.

For those that don't know me, I'm fairly easily to spot at such events when usually in (black) lederhosen, toe shoes, and usually a Phoronix Test Suite shirt. As usual as well, any beer tips are appreciated from the German Phoronix readers are also welcome for those who appreciate this site, benchmarking software, etc. E.g. here are the upcoming Phoronix articles. If it's a new beer I haven't experienced before or just a really good one (or multiple beers) for those bringing beer from their local region, it does earn a free Phoronix Premium subscription too.

For those not at LinuxTag but would like to support or just tip Phoronix, there is Phoronix Premium registration, PayPal tips. For the other German Phoronix readers wishing to meet up, from Sunday to Thursday (31 May) I'll then be in Munich, the night of 31 May in Nürnberg, and the following weekend back to Berlin.
