openSUSE 11.3 is planned for release in just under one month and in preparations for that major Linux distribution update, the 11.3 release candidate has been made available.

The openSUSE 11.3 release introduces Btrfs file-system support, abandons the RadeonHD driver in favor of xf86-video-ati with ATI kernel mode-setting, updates the KDE/GNOME desktops along with many other software components, and there are tons of other changes too.

openSUSE 11.3 Release Candidate 1 can be found at openSUSE.org in their news announcement. A second release candidate is expected on the first of July while the final build should be made available on the 15th.
