PC-BSD 10.0 RC2 Pulls In More Changes
After the FreeBSD 10.0 RC3 release earlier in the day, PC-BSD is out with their 10.0 RC2 release as well. PC-BSD 10.0 RC2 pulls in upstream FreeBSD 10.0 changes plus other work of their own as well.
PC-BSD 10.0 RC2 is based upon FreeBSD 10.0 as of last week plus has updated AMD KMS driver support, the ISO is now constructed in a hybrid mode, there's a new text-based installer, a new UEFI loader can be found on the installation media, and there's new updates to the GNOME3, Mate, and Cinnamon desktop environments. Plus there's other fixes and small changes.
For those looking towards a desktop friendly version of FreeBSD, PC-BSD is a very great desktop BSD distribution worth checking out and one that I run on several different systems. More details on PC-BSD 10.0 RC2 can be found from its release announcement.
