Wayland 1.13 Beta Released
Bryce Harrington at Samsung's Open-Source Group has announced the release of the Wayland 1.13 beta.
Wayland 1.13 has been carrying various API additions, documentation additions, and other minor additions over last year's Wayland 1.12. With today's Wayland 1.13 Beta release there are various bug fixes along with some new APIs for controlling the visibility of globals, and additions/improvements around documentation.
Overall this Wayland 1.13 Beta release isn't too big, the 11 changes since 1.13 Alpha can be found via the release announcement.
Meanwhile, there hasn't been any tagging or release of the Weston 2.0 Beta yet. When Wayland 1.13 went to alpha, Weston bumped to 2.0 alpha with a change of versioning compared to Wayland. Weston 2.0 has seen commits as recently as earlier today, but no 2.0 beta yet. Weston 2.0 has more changes building than Wayland 1.13, including a new output handling API, DRM compositor improvements, support for using EGL_KHR_swap_buffers_with_damage, initial window positioning for XWayland apps, desktop shell refinements, and more.
