RadeonSI Gallium3D Might Run As Well As Catalyst For CS:GO Linux

Yesterday I shared my initial Counter-Strike: Global Offensive benchmarks on Linux while following that have been others using the Phoronix Test Suite and OpenBenchmarking.org to deliver their own results for this latest Valve game to reach Linux.

Phoronix reader and forum contributor "Darkbasic" who previously showed that Gallium3D-Nine for RadeonSI can compete with Catalyst in Wine-based tests is out with some interesting numbers of his own using our Counter-Strike: Global Offensive benchmark.

His latest tests find RadeonSI is on par with Catalyst. The open-source Radeon tests were done with the Linux 3.17 kernel having the 3.18 drm-next code, HyperZ enabled, LLVM 3.6 Git, and other bleeding-edge code compared to the latest AMD.com public release of the Catalyst Linux driver.

The results are interesting and in the days ahead we'll have more Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Linux benchmarks.
