XWayland Gets GLAMOR X-Video Support

If you are interested in the X-Video output mechanism at all for video presentation under X11, thanks to a new patch it could soon be working under XWayland for maintaining legacy support.

Red Hat's Olivier Fourdan (also the creator of Xfce) posted a patch this morning for wiring up an X-Video adapter to XWayland. The X-Video support is powered via the generic GLAMOR library for piping it over OpenGL in a generic manner.

Presumably this patch will make its way into X.Org Server 1.19, which should be released later this year but we've still been waiting to find out more details about this next major release.
