LINUX GAMING
Earlier this month we shared with you that Egosoft's X3: Reunion for Linux finally entered its closed beta process after being ported by Linux Game Publishing. Not that it means too much to a Linux gamer without closed beta access, but LGP has pushed out a second beta release of X3: Reunion. For a comparison, when Linux Game Publishing was porting X2 - The Threat, there were nine closed beta releases before this game went gold. On the other hand, when porting Cold War, there were just five beta releases. This second X3 beta adds game fixes and speed optimizations.

The X3: Reunion LGP product page still shows the expected release date of August 1st, which has long passed. At the rate these X3 beta releases are going, we would suspect that X3: Reunion for Linux will ship in Q2'2008.
