NVIDIA Sends Out Fifth Version Of PRIME Synchronization Patches

PRIME synchronization is attempting to reduce/eliminate tearing when using PRIME GPU sharing -- namely between i915 and NVIDIA graphics. With these X.Org Server patches, PRIME uses double buffering and the in-tree xf86-video-modesetting generic driver is setup to take advantage of these changes. There are already changes to the i915 DRM kernel driver and NVIDIA is planning changes to their proprietary driver to jive with this work too.
The latest version of these patches that amount to nearly 1,000 lines of new xorg-server code can be found on the xorg-devel mailing list by Alex Goins of NVIDIA. Hopefully this PRIME synchronization code won't require too much more work before it's finally merged.
