openSUSE 13.2 Beta Still Using Btrfs By Default, & KDE Plasma 5 For Testing
The openSUSE 13.2 Beta is currently shipping with the Linux 3.16 kernel (but 13.2 final should use Linux 3.17), GNOME 3.12 (will be bumped to GNOME 3.14), KDE Plasma Workspace updates with KDE Plasma 5 available for testing, and packages Btrfs-Progs 3.16 while Btrfs will still be the default file-system of openSUSE 13.2. The openSUSE 13.2 Beta also uses AppArmor 2.9 Beta and LibreOffice 126.96.36.199. Btrfs by default in openSUSE 13.2 to replace EXT4 as the default has been part of their overall game plan with with SUSE long liking Btrfs, even in SUSE Linux Enterprise.
The rewritten YaST for openSUSE has also been seeing many improvements when it comes to their own in-house innovations. YaST features a revamped installer, other improvements, and other functionality is still forthcoming.
