Wine 1.6 Released With 10,000+ Changes

For those unfamiliar with the Wine 1.6 changes, see the features of Wine 1.6. Among the Wine 1.6 highlights are OpenGL DIB support, RandR 1.2/1.3 support, the Mac driver for not having to rely upon X11, Direct3D off-screen rendering, early 64-bit ARM support, dynamic device support, a Direct3D shader compiler, multi-channel ALSA audio handling, and thousands of other changes.
Over the course of Wine 1.6 development in the past year there's been 31 development releases in the Wine 1.5 unstable series.
The very brief release announcement for Wine 1.6 can be found at WineHQ.org.
With the Wine code-base having been in a code-freeze during the release candidate stage, expect the Wine 1.7 development versions to start appearing soon with all the changes that have been queued up in that time.
