Coreboot Adds Intel Braswell SoC Support

In an interesting move, Braswell support was added to Coreboot.

What makes this move interesting and different from some of the past generations of Intel CPU/SoC enablement in Coreboot is that an Intel developer (Lee Leahy) committed the code rather than a Google/Chromium engineer as is usually the case when they're working on bringing up next-generation Chromebooks / Chrome Boxes. Recent Intel hardware tends to be not too friendly towards Coreboot, and there's been exceptions, but for the most part it's limited to Google's devices for working well.

This Braswell SoC support code is based on Coreboot's earlier Bay Trail code and landed yesterday with this Git commit. Hopefully we'll see some interesting Braswell devices supporting Coreboot soon enough. Braswell SoCs are based on the Airmont architecture and are starting to appear in new Intel NUC models (one should be reviewed shortly on Phoronix), etc.
