Steam Dev Days: VR, VR, VR; Valve Looking To Contract Mesa Developers For AMD Work

Valve showed off new VR controller prototypes, they are working on a new Lighthouse base station for release in 2017, Steam Link will see integration into future Samsung Smart TVs, there was also news of a big Steam update coming down the pipe in the not too distant future, Valve on track to sell one million Steam controllers by early 2017, and plenty of other talks and outlooks for game developers and those interested in virtual reality.
Of course, there was also confirmation of Valve bringing VR support to SteamOS/Linux and leveraging Vulkan in the process, as would be expected.
Over night, Valve developer Pierre-Loup Griffais also commented on Twitter, "We're looking to contract experienced Mesa contributors to help us get the open-source AMD stack OpenVR-ready. Please help spread the word!" Great to see Valve contracting more open-source Linux graphics driver development again.
There's still more #SteamDevDays coming up today.
