Earlier this week I wrote about Aspyr Media running into severe issues with the AMD and Intel Linux GPU drivers in terms of bad rendering with the Civilization: Beyond Earth game they've been porting to Linux. The good news is that Intel and AMD are now involved and working to get these issues resolved.

To the earlier blog post by Aspyr Media, there's the following update:
BIG UPDATE: Both AMD and Intel have been quick and eager to help with these issues.  With their guidance, we’ve made great improvements over the last 24 hours and while there is still a lot of work to do, we are confident that support for both chipsets will be implemented asap.  We will be back with more info next week, but we wanted to give a heartfelt thanks to the fine folks at AMD and Intel for their help!
The only issue once the problems are resolved is hoping they're able to be back-ported to the stable Mesa release series and that your distribution will be updating Mesa in time for the Civilization: Beyond Earth Linux release that will likely be here in a couple of weeks.
