Approved: Fedora 22 Will Replace Yum With DNF

Already planned out by FESCo for Fedora 22 (not the Fedora 21 release coming late in the year) is replacing the Yum package manager with DNF, the "next-generation Yum" built atop the Hawkey library and designed to be a lot faster than Yum while offering a handful of other advantages too.
Last week I wrote about plans going forward to replace Yum by default with DNF and that's now been approved by the Fedora's engineering committee. Per the meeting minutes, the team decided yesterday, "Fedora 22 will use DNF by default, details will be worked out as we go."
Those not up to speed on the DNF developments and its plans for replacing Yum, see the details on the Fedora Project Wiki.
