Aside from upstream work to the GLAMOR acceleration code itself that's now part of the X.Org Server, Keith Packard has been working on the GLAMOR hook-up for the xf86-video-intel DDX driver.

Keith reworked the Intel driver's GLAMOR implementation to not be interwoven with the old UXA acceleration code, made a few other improvements along the way, and in the end he now has a much faster Intel DDX driver with the OpenGL-based 2D GLAMOR acceleration. While Keith didn't post numbers comparing the latest GLAMOR work to the high-performance Intel SNA 2D architecture, the numbers against the UXA code path is very promising and show just how in shape GLAMOR has become in the past few months.

Keith Packard is still running the revised xf86-video-intel driver on his crash box but he feels the code is mostly feature complete and hopefully soon enough he'll have the changes merged, but for now they're living in a separate Git branch.

More details on this latest Intel GLAMOR work can be found via Keith's blog post entitled Glamorous Intel.
