Intel Driver Picks Up More Improvements In Linux 3.14
The Intel DRM graphics driver will again have another round of features and improvements with the Linux 3.14 kernel.
Intel generally has multiple Git pull requests into drm-next each cycle, ahead of the official opening of the Linux kernel merge window. The latest round of Intel driver changes landed last night inside drm-next. The Linux 3.13 kernel is expected to be released in a week or two and following that is when the Linux 3.14 kernel cycle will officially commence.
Changes that were just merged into drm-next from the drm-intel-next tree include FBC1 (frame-buffer compression) improvements for pre-GM45 hardware, Valley View (Bay Trail) force-wake improvements, fixes for context hang stat code, PC8 improvements, prep work for runtime D3 power savings support is almost ready, Gen2 DPLL fixes, DSI improvements, various smaller bug-fixes and improvements all over the DRM kernel driver's code-base.
The Git pull with the changes can be found via this drm-next merge. Stay tuned for additional Linux 3.14 kernel details shortly on Phoronix.
