Unvanquished Improves OpenGL 3 Renderer, Installer
The seventeenth alpha release of the very promising Unvanquished open-source first person shooter was released today. This monthly development update to the Tremulous-derived game continues to improve its GL3 renderer and other game functionality.
Unvanquished Alpha 17 adds in proper shadow support to its OpenGL 3.x renderer, provides updated maps, has a new Unvstats component for maintaining in-game statistics, now ships a universal zip package, NetRadiant packages are available, there's bot improvements, and last but not least there are translation updates.
The shadow support for its GL3 renderer is great along with the bot improvements. While seemingly mundane, the universal zip package will hopefully be a big win as well that will allow it to be used by the Phoronix Test Suite with having a full download option rather than having to deal with Unvanquished's pesky installer from past tries.
More details on the game's 17th alpha release can be found at Unvanquished.net.
