Intel X.Org Driver Now Handles Better Tear-Free

The xf86-video-intel 2.99.905 is the latest Intel 3.0 X.Org driver development snapshot. The big 3.0 release switches over to using SNA 2D acceleration by default over UXA. It also was going to ship with Canonical's Mir Display Server support, but that was rejected. There's also been a range of other features added and improvements committed.
With today's xf86-video-intel 2.99.905, TearFree rendering has been extended to support transformed outputs and there's also improvements to eliminate its impact on input and output latency. Transformed outputs includes displays that are rotated.
This release also has a crash fix, backlight changes, and more. Chris Wilson himself made 66 changes in this driver release, mostly around the SNA acceleration architecture.
More details on the xf86-video-intel 2.99.905 DDX driver release can be found on xorg-announce. The official release of xf86-video-intel 3.0 shouldn't be too far out now.
