Adobe Open-Sources Flash C/C++ Compiler
Adobe has announced they're contributing their FlasCC C/C++ compiler to the CrossBridge project on GitHub. Per the blog announcement, "FlasCC has become the standard technology to bring C/C++ content to the unparalleled reach of the web. As CrossBridge, it will enjoy the speed of innovation and improvement that the open source community can bring."
CrossBridge 1.0.1 was just release and it contains the FlasCC 1.0 source-code. Also coming up is CrossBridge 1.1 and will include an upgrade to LLVM and its front=end along with Clang to enable advanced C++ syntax support.
The CrossBridge code can be found on GitHub. "CrossBridge is the open-source version of Adobe FlasCC (formerly the Alchemy project). Combine the power, familiarity, and high-performance of C/C++ with the unparalleled reach of the web. With CrossBridge you can bring your native C/C++ from consoles and PCs to over a billion people on the web – across browsers, with no additional install."
Using Adobe FlasCC is how Epic Games earlier brought Unreal Engine 3 to the web-browser.
