Arch Linux Moves Forward With Systemd

Arch Linux 2012.10.06 was released this weekend as the latest install media for this increasingly popular rolling-release distribution that's used by many Linux enthusiasts. With this October install media, systemd is now being used following the Arch Linux systemd plans that were laid back in August.
Aside from moving to the new init system, the Arch Linux 2012.10.06 release are changes to the handling of initscripts, simplified EFI boot and setup, Gummiboot is used for displaying menus on EFI systems, and there's new packages on the Arch Linux live system.
The new Arch Linux packages in the live mode include ethtool, fsarchiver, gummiboot-efi, mc, partclone, partimage, refind-efi, rfkill, sudo, testdisk, wget, and xl2tpd.
