Freedreno Driver Aspires Towards Gallium3D
The Freedreno reverse-engineered open-source ARM graphics driver continues to advance.
A brief status update on Freedreno was shared late in the afternoon on Thursday during XDC2012 in Germany. For those not familiar, this is the open-source reverse-engineered Qualcomm Snapdragon driver.
There isn't much new information to share for the faithful Phoronix readers that follow the frequent Phoronix coverage -- the latest was work on fragment shaders and VBOs.
The only new information on Freedreno information to share today was:
- The stencil test for Freedreno is now passing.
- There's continued aspirations towards having a Gallium3D graphics driver for this Qualcomm ARM SoC on the TODO list that hopefully isn't too far out in the future.
