Intel Valley View SDV Powers On With X.Org

Chris Wilson released the xf86-video-intel 2.20.8 driver on Sunday, which among various fixes adds in support for enabling the Valley View SDV, the reference development platform for the next-generation Intel Atom processor with Ivy Bridge class integrated graphics. "Another new small feature, another new release. And a few more bugs fixed as well! But what is this new feature, do I hear you ask? Why, it is nothing less than enabling the ValleyView SDV! The lucky person to have their hands on one will now be able to enjoy X in full TechniColor."
Aside from the VLV SDV enablement, there's also various fixes and some more improvements to the SNA acceleration architecture. Chris Wilson personally made 32 driver changes in the past week.
Valley View changes have been going into the Linux stack for months and aside from needing this new DDX driver release you will also want to be running the latest Linux kernel and Mesa.
