GLAMOR 0.5 Delivers Performance Improvements

Chris Wilson of Intel's Open-Source Technology Center has run some benchmarks comparing GLAMOR 0.4 to GLAMOR 0.5 on an Intel Ivy Bridge system. GLAMOR 0.5 is significantly faster than the 0.4 release from earlier this year, but compared to Intel's stock UXA 2D acceleration it still is slower. Compared to Intel SNA, GLAMOR 0.5 would definitely get smacked, but there aren't results in the blog posting written by Chris Wilson.
Among the changes introduced in GLAMOR 0.5 were support for tiling large pixmaps into multiple small textures, enabling of a gradient shader, optimized glyph rendering, and other changes.
Chris Wilson's GLAMOR 0.5 test results can be found on his Ickle blog.
