Topics For Next Week's Linux Foundation Summit
As someone that's been to the Linux Foundation Collaboration Summits going back to the original summit in 2007 at the Googleplex, I'm looking forward to this latest event and should be quite interesting -- the talks tend to be more technical and worthwhile compared to many other conferences.
Among the items on the 2012 LF Collaboration Summit schedule worth pointing out (and the ones where likely I'll be at) include:

- OpenMAMA
- The Linux Kernel: What's Next [Panel]
- Intro to Tizen and Community and Architecture Overview
- Kernel in the Way: Bypass and Offload Technologies
- Introduction to Tizen SDK
- The Decline of the GPL and What To Do About It
- Architecture of a Next-Generation Parallel File System
- Upcoming Technologies: Wayland & oFono
- Dtrace
- LLVM Toolchain - Update and State of Building Linux with LLVM
- UEFI as the Converged Firmware Infrastructure
- Btrfs Filesystem: Status and New Features
- GCC, C++ and Transactional Memory
- The Future of the GNU C Library
- Open Hardware + Open Software - The Perfect Storm For Innovation
(Sadly, one of the Linux Foundation's newest members, NVIDIA Corp won't be having anyone speaking at the conference... Hopefully they'll send some employees anyhow to the Linux summit.)
For those that were not invited to the Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit, there will be a live video stream of the keynotes next Tuesday. For anything really interesting that comes up in any of the sessions, I'll likely write about it on Phoronix or live via Twitter.
Meanwhile, coming up this weekend in Chicago is the Flourish open-source conference. Ryan "Icculus" Gordon will be talking about open-source tools for game development, but that seems to be about the only interesting presentation taking place. Regardless, I'll be there for Phoronix and live Twitter coverage.
