The FOSDEM 2012 conference ended two weeks ago in Brussels while this past week more of the videos from the various technical sessions were uploaded for the public.

The Phoronix coverage of FOSDEM 2012 (mostly related to X.Org/Wayland) has long since been published along with the various Phoronix-recorded videos embedded into each of the articles. If you missed any of the Phoronix FOSDEM coverage, this year it came down to:

- Wayland is preparing for a 1.0 release this calendar year. There were also other exciting Wayland details shared. Two days prior to the FOSDEM event in Brussels there was also a meeting of Wayland developers.

- Intel's Open-Source Technology Center Linux graphics team is working on a number of exciting features from new acceleration architectures to Cairo to APITrace.

- Coreboot on a laptop was shown off during one of the main talks, but it ended up being a disappointment.

- Xonotic, the open-source fork of Nexuiz, will soon see Xonotic 1.0 with many gaming improvements.

- Nouveau was shown running open-source OpenCL on the GPU. However, this GPGPU compute support from the open-source reverse-engineered NVIDIA Linux driver isn't yet mainline or fully ready for end-users.

- Nouveau is also working on new video decoding support.

- DMA-BUF is opening up new possibilities for open-source Linux drivers.

- There was an interesting Wayland technical discussion. It was also shown Tizen's UI running on Wayland and talk about how to port tool-kits and other software to Wayland.

- X Input 2.2 with multi-touch is ready for Linux user adoption.

- X Server 1.13 plans were laid. It will be released prior to this year's Oktoberfest and there's plans as well for tighter X/Wayland integration.

- Red Hat is working towards Gallium3D support with SPICE so that we can finally have guest 3D acceleration within KVM/QEMU virtualization instances.

- OpenSUSE entered the beer business (other distributions should follow suit).

- The Lima driver code was published, which is a reverse-engineered open-source ARM Mali GPU driver.

That was the Phoronix coverage and videos. The videos recorded by others began to be uploaded this week to video.fosdem.org/2012. Among the WebM videos there are from the cross-distribution development room, the lightning talks, the main tracks, and the open-source gaming / security development rooms.
