The Intel Graphics Highlights Of The Linux 4.5 Kernel

While we've already been writing at length about the DRM graphics driver changes you will be able to find with the Linux 4.5 kernel, here's a nice overview of the Intel-specific i915 DRM graphics changes for this next version of the Linux kernel.

Intel DRM maintainer Daniel Vetter published a personal blog post today doing his usual recap of what the Open-Source Technology Center team has been working on for this next kernel version. Highlights include fixes for Panel Self Refresh (PSR) and Frame-Buffer Compression (FBC), DMC firmware loading issue fixes for Skylake, sync for page-flipping DMA-BUF, reworked DisplayPort detection, and many other fixes. For the Linux 4.5 merge window, they primarily focused on bug fixes over new feature work for this cycle.
