The Only Fallout I've Been Exposed To So Far On Linux 4.3

Out of the dozen plus systems at Phoronix devoted to running the latest Linux kernel Git code on a daily basis with the latest Fedora/Ubuntu packages, only 3~4 of them have hit regressions so far on the new, in-development Linux 4.3 kernel.

Two AMD systems (both older systems, one a dual socket AMD Opteron 2384 box and the other an Athlon II X3 system) won't boot up with the latest Linux 4.3 kernel code in the past few days due to what appears to be ehci-pci/ohci-pci problems. Early into the boot process are some "can't setup: -12" messages from the EHCI/OHCI PCI platform drivers followed by a failure in sata_nv and ultimately not being able to get to the root disk device.


When booting from Linux 4.2 or the Git code from days earlier, the boot process goes as expected. So while there's this problem, it's at least not widespread like the issue hit on Ubuntu systems early in Linux 4.2.


The rest of the Intel systems continue chugging along with all of their daily kernel benchmarking work. For these working systems, you can continue to see the daily benchmark results with the Ubuntu kernel benchmarks and Fedora kernel benchmarks.
