For those into the World of Worldcraft computer game, which lacks a Linux client at this time, the Cataclysm expansion pack was released over the night. Fortunately, for those not wanting to use Microsoft Windows to play this popular MMORPG, CodeWeavers is out with CrossOver Games 9.2.1, which brings WoW: Cataclysm support to Mac OS X and Linux gamers.

CodeWeavers is providing the CrossOver Games 9.2.1 release on the same day as the game's availability though this seems to be the only major change (Update: it appears there is a few Steam overlay fixes in here too that caused Valve Steam-powered games to fail) in this point release. CrossOver 9.2 was originally introduced back in October, but at least this Wine-sponsoring company is doing more than Transgaming's Cedega for Linux gaming.

Details in this press release with a video demo of their World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Linux demo running on Ubuntu 10.10 being embedded below.
