Linux Mint 17.1 Released In MATE & Cinnamon Flavors

Out today is Linux Mint 17.1 "Rebecca" with the Cinnamon and MATE desktop flavors. Like Linux Mint 17, Linux Mint 17.1 remains based off Ubuntu 14.04 LTS "Trusty Tahr" with the Linux 3.13 kernel. The Linux Mint 17.1 release candidate features Cinnamon 2.4 (assuming you're using that spin), update manager improvements, greater kernel selection, UI improvements, and various package updates. While the MATE version offers similar changes with just using the GNOME2-forked desktop instead, a new change to Linux Mint 17.1 MATE is support for Compiz out-of-the-box.
The 17.1 release details can be found on two separate pages for Cinnamon and the GNOME2-forked MATE edition.
