X.Org Server "Szechuan Hot Pot" Announced
Keith Packard has tagged a new developmental version of the X.Org Server.
The Intel employee bumped the xorg-server code-base today to version 1.15.99.901 and changed the X.Org Server's codename from "Golden Gaytime" to now being known as the "Szechuan Hot Pot" release. The release happened with this Git commit.
The Szechuan Hot Pot is a development version in the road to X.Org Server 1.16. Among the changes for this next X.Org Server update to be released this summer includes improved GLAMOR acceleration that's now part of the X.Org Server rather than its own standalone library, DMX has been demoted, and there's many other changes. One of the features still being hoped for in version 1.16 is the merging of XWayland support.
The tentative 1.16 schedule has the final release penciled in for July.
