KDE Gets Screen-Locking Improvements In Plasma Next
KDE Plasma Next will feature a new screen-locker to try to better protect desktop Linux users from unauthorized access.
With KDE's upcoming Plasma Next release there is a reworked screen-locking architecture with support for screensavers being removed (but coming back later in a different form) and simplifying the architecture. With Plasma Next there is KSLD screen-locking daemon in KSMServer, the KScreenlocker greeter, and KCheckpass.
For those wanting to know how these components work for providing a better and more secure screen-locking experience, read the post on Martin's blog about the ongoing work.
