X.Org Server 1.16 Merge Window Officially Opens
X.Org Server 1.15 was released at the end of December and now Keith, serving as the xorg-server release manager, is planning for its official release in July. Per the release schedule, the merge window is open until the start of April followed by bug-fixing until June and pushing out the release in July. A couple of hours ago the X.Org Server mainline Git was bumped to 1.15.99.900.
Already as X.Org Server 1.16 material we have seen the proposals to merge GLAMOR into the server, possible mainlining of XWayland support, and the elimination of compiler warnings. Hopefully we'll also see fixes for some of the hundreds of X.Org security problems.
