Several Phoronix readers have written in that Hashcat -- both in its CPU and OpenCL/CUDA forms -- have been open-sourced.

Hashcat is one of the most popular "advanced password recovery" tools and claims to be the world's fastest. The program was proprietary, but some days ago it became open-source.

There is now oclHashcat on GitHub for the OpenCL/GPU version of the program since last week. There is also now the CPU-based version in the Hashcat repository.

The Hashcat programs are available under the MIT license. With being open-source, I'll see about their state for incorporating them into the Phoronix Test Suite for benchmarking.
