Three Things That Annoy Me With Using GNOME 3

GNOME
At the beginning of this month I wrote how I switched back to Fedora Linux on my main system to replace Ubuntu and also wrote about changes I made when installing Fedora 21 on my main system, a new ThinkPad ultrabook with Broadwell processor. There's three small things that annoy me the most though about using GNOME 3.x.

For the most part, I'm loving the GNOME 3.14 experience in using it as my desktop on my main production system the past few weeks to replace my old Ubuntu 14.04 system with Unity 7. Three items I've found annoying about GNOME 3 though are:

Lack of desktop icons by default. By default there's no icons on the desktop with GNOME Shell on Fedora. Fortunately, this can be easily corrected by installing gnome-tweak-tool.

Deleting files in Nautilus from the keyboard. Hitting the Del key on the keyboard no longer works for deleting selected files from the keyboard... I'm just not a fan of now having to do Ctrl + Del to delete files.

"Set as Wallpaper" from the right click menu. Going back to the GNOME2/Unity days, many times I've accidentally pressed the "set as wallpaper" menu item when right clicking on images within Nautilus. When going to rename a file from Nautilus, many times when using a very sensitive mouse I've accidentally clicked the menu item underneath it -- set as wallpaper. Yet I've never used this menu item to intentionally set a desktop background... Do many people decide to change their desktop wallpaper when simply viewing thumbnails of images? Do many people frequently decide to manually change their desktop background? I'd figure it's most often done when viewing the image within the GNOME Image Viewer where there is already the set as wallpaper option... Where it is now right next to "rename" is too easy to accidentally click it, I wish it would either be removed from the menu, moved to some of the less seldom used menu items, or need a confirmation prompt when clicking it.

That's about it for my frequent GNOME Shell annoyances... It isn't that bad, but figured it would prove for an interesting discussion item in the forums, where you can also share what annoys you about GNOME or improvements you hope will be made for later GNOME 3.x releases or even GNOME 4.0 pipedreams.
