Chrome 62 Beta Released With OpenType Font Variations, DOM Media Capture
Google has rolled out their public beta of the upcoming Chrome/Chromium 62 web-browser update.
New to Chrome 62 is a network quality estimator API with network performance metrics, support for OpenType Font Variations, and W3C Media Capture from DOM Elements support. The new media capture API allows live capturing of content of a media stream from a video or audio HTMLMediaElement tag. The captured content can then be recorded and streamed with WebRTC or used in other forms.
More details on all of the changes to find with Chrome 62 Beta can be found from this morning's announcement at Chromium.org.
