It's been a while since last hearing anything major out of the Avidemux free software video editor project. However, available this weekend is the Avidemux 2.6.12 release.

Avidemux 2.6.12 mostly comes down to a bug-fix release, but there are a few notable changes. Among the highlights for Avidemux 2.6.12 are VDPAU fixes, faster loading of VP9 and H.265 content, support for more flavors of H.265, a better crash handler, and basic WebM support with the muxer.

More details on the new Avidemux release can be found via the Avidemux project site.
