Linux 3.14 Kernel Gets A Power Supply Notifier
The battery pull request submitted late on Tuesday by Dmitry Eremin-Solenikov for the Linux 3.14 kernel provides new Device Tree support for drivers, a new Maxim 14577 driver, and provides a new power supply notifier for the Linux kernel.
This new power supply notifier for the Linux kernel helps in notifying changes to other kernel drivers of power supply changes, such as system changes based upon battery capacity/voltage and voltage/current thresholds. This work was done by an Intel developer and more details can be found in this earlier patch series.
