UBUNTU --
While Canonical may be set on making Mir the default display server across all Ubuntu platforms by this time next year, this isn't stopping others from using Ubuntu for Wayland development and using it as an alternative to Mir or the X.Org Server.

Ubuntu 15.04 has Wayland/Weston 1.7.0 available for those wishing to install the stable Wayland packages on Ubuntu. However, for developers, those testing Wayland, or just wishing to get the very latest Wayland experience, there's now a daily build archive of Wayland and the reference Weston compositor.

Former Canonical developer Bryce Harrington who continues to be heavily involved in Wayland development while working for Samsung's open-source group, established the new daily build system. Using Canonical's recipe system for PPAs, he setup Wayland daily builds via this Launchpad PPA.

Now it's even easier trying out the newest Wayland/Weston code on Ubuntu and developers will also be notified if the latest state of the code fails to build. Bryce also setup similar daily builds for Cairo and Pixman too. Bryce shared the new daily build PPA via this Wayland-devel message.
