Google Is Going To Open-Source SageTV
Google is going to be open-sourcing SageTV, the proprietary DVR/HTPC software Google acquired back in 2011.
Google discontinued selling SageTV products after its acquisition but has now decided to open-source this software for OS X, Windows, and Linux.
The founder of SageTV and Google employee, Jeffrey Kardatzke, shared on Monday that Google has decided to open-source the software in the near future (in the months ahead).
Unfortunately not many details on the SageTV open-source plans are available right now outside of this forum announcement by Kardatzke.
