SVT-AV1 2.2 is now available for this leading open-source AV1 video encoder. With this new version comes yet more performance optimizations.

SVT-AV1 2.2 is achieving around a 15% speed-up across all presets from M0 to M8 while still maintaining similar video quality levels. SVT-AV1 has achieved stunning performance improvements over the years and incredible they are still managing to tap into double digit percentage performance gains.

The new SVT-AV1 2.2 also has various other optimizations, increasing the temporal resolution setting for 4K resolutions by default, and introducing some new ARM optimizations. With new ARM-optimized functions there is an average speed-up of around 13% for 4K 10-bit video encoding.
