AMD driver engineer Saroj Kumar has contributed Perfetto integration for the RadeonSI Gallium3D driver as the latest means of allowing tracing/profiling for this open-source OpenGL driver.

Perfetto is an open-source solution around system profiling and tracing developed by Google for Linux and Android systems.

With Mesa 23.3 is now optional support for compiling RadeonSI with Perfetto tracing support. Around 400 lines of new code is added to help with the Perfetto tracing support within the RadeonSI driver to help in providing useful Perfetto support.

This RadeonSI Perfetto integration had been under review for the past four months while being merged this week ahead of the upcoming Mesa 23.3 branching next week. Those interested in Perfetto tracing for this open-source AMD Linux graphics driver can see this merge request for all the Perfetto integration notes.
