The OpenShot crew shared lots of progress on the 2.0 release is being made and they're working to bring it to Windows, OS X, and Linux users "as quickly as possible." OpenShot 2.0 has been running behind schedule since late 2013 and the new release isn't quite ready yet.
In this latest update, the developers shared they have made performance improvements, the video export dialog has been redone, effects are now integrated into the UI, there's real-time preview support, and a wealth of other updates.
There's still more work to be done though before OpenShot 2.0 is ready for wide-scale testing and there isn't any revised roadmap for shipping OpenShot 2.0 at this time.
