OpenMandriva Is Sort Of Trying To Make It Easier To Game On Linux
The developers working on OpenMandriva are trying to make it easier for Linux users to run the latest games.
OpenMandriva has launched their own "OpenMandriva Games" page where they provide step-by-step walkthroughs for running the latest Linux games like Dota 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Heroes of Newerth, etc. The guides are just illustrated steps for setting up / installing the games via Steam on Linux or PlayOnLinux for the Windows-based games. Sadly it's just instructions and nothing fundamental for making it easier to quickly run such games on OpenMandriva or other Linux distributions and nothing at all for making Windows gamers want to switch over to Linux.
"Forget dark commands with a lot of parameters and codes and configurations, you will install simply and quick, using basic linux commands, but most of the time you will need just your mouse," the announcement notes.
So if you're an OpenMandriva user and can't figure out how to use Steam on Linux or PlayOnLinux, head on over to Games.OpenMandriva.org.
