LINUX GAMING
Ask and you shall receive. Following yesterday's holiday surprise and this morning's exclusive preview of Unigine OilRush, we now have up an in-game video recording we made today of this forthcoming real-time strategy game.

As said in today's initial review of Unigine's first game (for Linux, Windows, and PlayStation 3 platforms), in the coming weeks Unigine Corp will begin with pre-orders of the game and that will allow the public to gain access to the game's beta. We just happened to get rare access to their latest development build that was used this weekend in Russia for their focus group testing.

This build of Unigine OilRush is functioning and largely bug-free, but the game's UI (User Interface) is about to be overhauled and the developers haven't yet made their pass at optimizing the game's performance.

Using an un-optimized development build combined with using FFmpeg for recording the video from the Ubuntu 10.10 desktop, plus maxing out most of the game's graphical settings, led this recording to be not a completely seamless experience. The point of this video is to just show off the game's graphics a bit more than just screenshots at the request of some Phoronix readers from over the weekend.

With that said, below is this video, which can be watched up to 1080p resolution.

Unigine Corp is also expected to put out some new OilRush game videos in the coming days.
