Linux Group Files Complaint With EU Over SecureBoot

The Hispalinux Spanish Linux association has filed a complaint against Microsoft with the European Union over the UEFI SecureBoot.

Many Linux users have been waiting for some organization within the EU to take action against Microsoft over UEFI SecureBoot as restricting users from easily installing alternative operating systems. Microsoft mandates that Windows 8 certified PCs ship with this "security" technology by default. Well, Hispalinux has come forth and filed a EU complaint against Microsoft in Madrid.

The UEFI SecureBoot complaint against Microsoft in Europe was first reported by Reuters. More details are emerging but it will likely take some time for any decision to come out of the EU or any other government.
