KDE's KWin Made Lots Of Progress In 4.11
We have already known about KDE/KWin 4.11 bringing early Wayland support and other new features. We now have a better idea for the other features to be found with the KWin window manager in the upcoming KDE 4.11 release.
Martin Gräßlin, the KWin maintainer, has written about the progress made in KWin 4.11. Aside from working on the non-X / Wayland support, the German developer has been working on performance improvements, porting to the Qt 5 tool-kit, handling OpenGL 3.1 Core Profile contexts rather than just GL2, more XCB porting, and much more.
For more details on the progress made, read Martin's blog post.
