FOSDEM 2012: Four Weeks To Wayland, X.Org & Games
There's just four weeks to go until FOSDEM 2012 takes place in Brussels, Belgium. The initial schedule for this leading open-source European event is set, there's lots of interesting discussions to be had, and at least one surprise.
The FOSDEM 2012 schedule is now available from this area of the FOSDEM.org web-site.
Among the interesting talks that are going on during the main tracks include Kristian Høgsberg talking about Wayland, KVM virtualization, the EFL tool-kit for mobile Linux devices, LibreOffice On-line, Coreboot, and Apache Cassandra.
Besides the main trackers, there are also development tracks for X.Org / Wayland, gaming, and other areas of free software development. Various free software projects will also be hosting stands for the weekend event.
There will also be at least one announcement during FOSDEM that will be of great interest to many Phoronix readers.
As always, the Free Open-Source Developers' European Meeting is taking place at the university in Brussels, Belgium. Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings and there is no registration required. For those that have never been to FOSDEM, it's one of my favorite Linux events in Europe, if not the world. This year FOSDEM is taking place on the 4th and 5th of February.
I'll be back at FOSDEM 2012 and hope to see you there. For more information visit FOSDEM.org.
